I just wanted to confirm that we have now received delivery of my wife's perfume.  Thank you for the excellent support during this process.


Glynis agreed to give her DNA sample without knowing exactly what it was for and allowed me to blank out the 'My DNA Fragrance' references in all the documentation before she signed the consent forms.  I am so glad I managed to keep the surprise for her and I only wish I had a video of her response to receiving her own special fragrance.


She had several ideas of what I might have been doing with her DNA sample, but she had it completely wrong!  Having collected the parcel from the post depot I took her to lunch in a nice restaurant and let her open the parcel for herself.  I was concerned that I had no idea if she would like the perfume or not, but I need not have worried.  There was a faint pleasant smell from the package, which intrigued her and as she opened the postal package [who needs shiny wrapping paper when you package the contents so beautifully] she was still puzzled.


The concept of such a unique fragrance was not lost on her and frankly it brought tears to her eyes.  However, when she opened the bottle the surprises really started.  Her first reaction seemed rather guarded as she indicated it had a slight citrus smell; unfortunately I was all too aware that she does not favor citrus type smells.  She put a dab of perfume on each wrist and then it all changed!!  The smell exploded in the restaurant.  It was beautiful, heady and so 'je ne sais quoi'.  The smell was alluring and so very different from anything I have encountered before.  It is complex yet subtle; delicate but powerful.


There are a couple of things that we noticed that might intrigue you too.  Glynis insists that there is an element of the fragrance that smells just like the children when they were tiny babies and believe me the look in her eyes tells me something is going on there!  I also noticed that as she moved her hands close to her face the scent would trigger Goosebumps down her arms; something she did not notice herself until I pointed it out to her.


This has been an amazing experience and somehow I believe you will be getting an order for the cologne very shortly.  Everyone loves the smell and she smiles when they ask what perfume she is wearing.


Thank you for such a wonderful perfume; this is beyond any expectation I had of you and I don't mind you using this to tell others how happy we are with the outcome.

Steve C. from the United Kingdom also agreed to an interview by Lolita Lopez from WPIX-TV in New York for her story on My DNA Fragrance.  He shared with us the transcript of his interview below.

I was told it would be OK to contact you about your personalized fragrance.  I was hoping you could answer some questions and we can go from there.


[Steve C.]

I have provided specific answers to your questions below.  In addition, I have copied the original text of the email I sent to My DNA Fragrance (also printed below) when we first received the first perfume order.


I bought the perfume as a unique present for my wife, having heard a radio interview on the Steve Wright Show on BBC Radio 2.  We have never looked back!


Now she only uses her own fragrance and we have reordered perfume and cologne (and she is due another refill soon!)

How long have you been using your personalized fragrance?


[Steve C.]

From the very beginning.  Our order number was 17 and I believe we had a short wait until the official launch.


[Reporter]

What is the reaction from people when you wear it?


[Steve C.]

Everyone wants to know what perfume she is wearing.  Glynis has the pleasure of saying 'her own' and then explains.  At first it was strange to have total strangers coming up to her and asking what her perfume was.  Men and women both react to her and she has never had anyone say they do not like the smell.  The power of her fragrance changes with mood too.

Do you feel like it "smells like you" and what is the scent?


[Steve C.]

It is so difficult to explain.  Yes it smells just like her, but Glynis also detects the smell of her children as babies. It is a warm and pleasant smell that I remember of the young woman I feel in love with.  Beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder.  I can close my eyes and smell her and it brings such a wonderful feeling.

Why go this route and not just buy a nice perfume scent already out there?  Has it helped in "attracting" people? (I guess this goes with the reaction question too)


[Steve C.]

Glynis had always used good perfumes.  Opium, Chanel and several others were her favorites.  She has tried then again since, but has always returned to her own fragrance.  She only changes the quantity she uses when we go out.  She uses it every day!

It's based on DNA, were you concerned about someone using your personal genetic code?  Would you ever have thought this would be your scent?


[Steve C.]

I work in the security industry and I made some enquiries prior to ordering.  Frankly it is the one issue that still puts many off trying this unique fragrance.  I was happy to proceed but many are very reluctant to do so, even with all the safe guards in place.  I believe that the DNA data is secure and there is no reason to be concerned.  We leave our DNA all over the place all of the time anyway!


Glynis was surprised by the fragrance and loved it from the very beginning.  I have been credited with providing such a unique gift [a big plus for any husband] and we have been amazed by the reaction that everyone has to it.  It is a little bit of magic and I could never have predicted that.

To the whole team behind 'My' perfume:


I received it yesterday.  I didn't know quite what to expect and was very surprised at the way the notes in the scent keep shifting with every sniff, and when it finally settled out on My wrist how it smelled exactly like My grandmother.  LOL


You guys went above and beyond to make sure I got what I ordered - mail stealing squirrels notwithstanding.  My perfume was and is well worth the the time it took to get.

As you may have noted, I have now received my perfume.  Parcel Force sent me a letter telling me they had it and I went to pick it up on Monday evening.  I must say that having been disappointed with the delivery issue etc I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the packaging.  Your presentation is gorgeous and, having worn the perfume for the first time yesterday, am delighted with the scent and its durability.  I will definitely be buying more.

I would now like to buy my Goddaughter her scent for her birthday which is in January.  However, could one of your customer service people let me know how I should go about this bearing in mind the Submission and Consent Form. Charlotte is 18 years old so I am assuming that won't be a problem?
